Library Card Information
Library cards are free! They are quick and easy to get, with no waiting period.

Any resident of Massachusetts, age 4 or older, who can provide an ID proving current address is entitled to a library card.

Children (4-15 years old) need a parent or guardian’s signature and ID to obtain a card.

There is no replacement charge for a library card. Lost cards should be reported immediately.

You must present your card or a photo ID at the Circulation Desk to check out library materials.

Library cards may be used at any of the Minuteman Library Network (MLN) libraries. (There are 41 MLN libraries as of October 2024.)

Your library card number and a PIN are required for online access to your account.

You can apply for a library eCard from the Maynard Public Library online! The library is part of a consortium of libraries known as the Minuteman Library Network. This network makes it possible for you to complete a form online to create a Minuteman library eCard.
What are the benefits?
You can use this eCard to:

Login to My Account in the Minuteman catalog and establish a PIN.

Reserve items in the Minuteman catalog.

Use state-provided online research databases within Massachusetts only.

Access ebooks and audio in our Minuteman digital collections.

Use Maynard digital collections if you reside in Maynard.

When visiting the library, please mention that you have already registered for an eCard and bring your card number.
Already have a card but need to renew it?
You can renew your card either by visiting the circulation desk at the library or by using this online renewal form.
