A Note for Parents:

Please remember that our Unattended Children Policy requires all children ages 8 and under to be accompanied by a person age 16 or older. This means staying near the child, not just remaining in the building or on separate floors. Comic Con is a busy event, and library staff cannot be responsible for monitoring your child's location.

2:00 pm in the Roosevelt Room

Come have fun while drawing your own comics! In this workshop, students will play silly drawing games, generate ideas for their own characters, and start to write comic book stories. All levels of experience welcome! Workshop is run by Cathy G. Johnson, Providence-based writer and author of the graphic novel The Breakaways!

1:30 PM in the Storytime Room

Attend the Maynard Library Comic Con as your favorite character! There will be a group photo in the Storytime Room at 1:30 pm, though cosplayers are welcome all day.

12:00pm - 1:00pm in the Storytime Room

Can you lift heavy objects? Defeat the villains? Avoid danger? Find out at our Superhero Training Camp!

Costumes Encouraged! Drop-in anytime while the program is open.

Parents are encouraged to help their children complete the various obstacles!

2:00pm - 4:00pm in the Storytime Room

Drop-in anytime between 2:00pm and 4:00pm to create with LEGOs and Mega Blocks!

Choose from a variety of shapes and decorate a sugar cookie to represent the fandom of your choice.

• Check out our Poster Board Polls! There will be polls on all three floors of the library where you can vote for your favorite characters, shows, moments, and more!

• Test your fandom trivia knowledge at the Trivia Station on the first floor.​

• Try one or all of the Scavenger Hunts:

  • Find each of the famous starships flying around on the 1st floor.

  • The Hogwarts professors have apparated to the library for Comic Con! Can you find them on the 2nd floor? (If you play Wizards Unite, we're a Greenhouse!)

  • Disney characters are hidden on the 3rd Floor! Can you find them all?​

  • Gotta Catch 'Em All! Take a PokéBall around the library and "catch" all the hidden Pokémon on all three floors! (Don't forget to check Pokémon Go! We're a Gym!)​​​

• Adult coloring pages will be available on the 2nd floor, and Children's coloring pages will be available on the 3rd floor!

• Take a selfie at our Photo Booth on the third floor.

​

• Take Comic Con home with you by checking out our book and movie displays throughout the library!
