Tiny Art Show
Share your artistic talents by participating in the Maynard Library's Tiny Art Show.
If you enjoy the Pumpkin Decorating Art Show in October, you'll have just as much fun during the Tiny Art Show!
Create a work of art no larger than 4"x4" and return it to the library by Tuesday, July 29 at 9:00pm.
Kits with canvases will be available beginning Wednesday, July 16,
or you can attend an in-person decorating event.
Artwork will be displayed in the library from August 2-August 16.
Artists' Reception will be held on Tuesday, August 5 at 7:00pm.
Refreshments will be served, open to all!
Dates:
Wednesday, July 16, 2025: Kits with canvas, a small selection of paint, and a brush are available at the Circulation Desk. Also available - Canvas Only kits
Monday, July 21, 2025, 1:00-4:00 pm: In-person Creating Event in the Storytime Room. No registration needed.
Tuesday, July 30, 2025:
6:00-8:00 pm: In-person Creating Event in the Storytime Room. No registration needed.
9:00 pm: Deadline to return artwork created at home.
Saturday, August 2, 2025: Tiny Art Show opens in the Roosevelt Room
Tuesday, August 5, 2025, 7:00 pm: Artists' Reception in the Roosevelt Room
Saturday, August 16, 2025: Last day to view the Tiny Art Show
Monday, August 18, 2025: Artwork available to be picked-up at the Circulation Desk
Friday, August 29, 2025: Last day to pick-up your artwork from the library.
Rules:

One canvas/sculpture per person or group.

You can create as an individual, group, family, or team.

No candles or electrical devices, including battery operated.

No vulgarity of any kind permitted - this is a family art show!

Objects, paper, and materials of any kind except food may be glued to the canvas or turned into a sculpture, but artwork must be 4" in all directions or smaller.

Fill out the entire Tiny Art Show ID form. Lost the one from your kit? You can print one below or ask for a copy when you return your artwork.

Artwork will be available for pick-up beginning Monday, August 19 at the Circulation Desk. The last day to pick up your artwork will be Friday, August 29. Please note, any artwork not picked up by 5:00 pm on the 29th will become library property for use as we deem fit.

Staff reserve the right to reject any artwork that do not follow these rules!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to use a canvas provided by the library?
Absolutely not! You are more than welcome to use a canvas you already own (so long as it is 4"x4" or smaller).
Does my art need to be on a canvas?
Nope! Any medium is welcome, so long as it measures 4" or smaller in all directions. The only restrictions on materials are: 1) No food; 2) No electrical devices.
If I picked up a kit, do I need to bring everything in the kits back?
The paint & brushes, no. Your artwork, YES!!! Your artwork with a completed ID Form must be returned to the library by 9pm on July 29.
I want to make my Tiny Art Show entry at an In-Person Creating Event? Do I need a kit?
No! Canvases, ID Forms, and a wide variety of arts and crafts supplies will be available!
What if I take a kit and change my mind?
If you take a kit and decide you don't want to make an entry, you don't need the kit supplies, or that you want to make something at an In-Person Creating Event, we would appreciate if you bring the kit back so it can be used by someone else.
