Includes nearly 400 health/medical journals, numerous reference volumes, over 700 health videos from partner Healthology, Inc., hundreds of pamphlets and health-related articles from 2,200 general interest publications in addition to a broad collection of Gale reference titles. Nursing and Allied Health Collection Resource Center
All aspects of the Nursing profession from direct patient care to health care administration are covered in this collection. Including nearly 400 titles, this collection's current and authoritative content will be of use to both professionals already working in the field as well as students pursuing a nursing-focused curriculum.

Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Collection
This collection includes over 100 titles covering the fields of physical therapy and sports medicine, providing researchers with access to topics discussed in the field, including proven treatment techniques, experimental research theses, and many more.

Headspace

Experience the benefits of meditation through guided meditations, animations, articles, and videos. The BPL has a limited number of licenses to assign to BPL cardholders. Licenses expire on the 1st of each calendar month, but you may return here to obtain a new license.

This resource requires you to register for an individual Headspace account.

Emerson Hospital is located approximately 5 miles (10 minute drive) from most parts of Maynard.  The Emergency Department, open 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, is staffed by board certified emergency physicians and by nurses who have specialized training in emergency medicine. The Emergency Department, which cares for approximately 37,000 patients per year, is a fully-equipped, 22 bed facility with specialized treatment rooms for resuscitation, eye, ear, nose and throat problems, orthopedic injuries and obstetrical emergencies.

The Reference Collection also contains several various medicial dictionaries.

Browse through psychology related topics from ADHD to Workplace Issues.

Family Doctor

Contains information written and reviewed by AAFP physicians and patient education professionals on health topics, drug information, herbal and alternative remedies, and self care.

A free online version of the Merck Manual.  Provides comprehensive and detailed medical information for the professional or lay-person.  


National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine 
The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) is the Federal Government's agency responsible for 
conducting research on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).  Peruse featured health topics or find out "what the 
science says" about the effectiveness of CAM practices on health topics of interest.  


National Institute of Health 

Comprehensive information on a wide variety of health topics provided by the federal government's NIH.  Browse for topics online, sign up for a news (RSS) feed, or listen to NIH produced Podcasts.

New York Times' Wellness Blog
