At Monday's Science & More program, we heard the story of the Trojan Horse (DK's website has a quick overview if you want to brush up on the story) and then used craft supplies and recycled materials to build our own version! We did have a quick discussion of scale and ratios, since clearly our traps would not be the size of the original Trojan Horse we saw in paintings and photographs (Right: Still from Troy (2004) starring Brad Pitt Left: "The Trojan Horse" by Henri Paul Motte)
The goal was to hide 4-6 plastic toy soldiers inside of our trap, and see if other people could find the entrance. Traps didn't have to look like a horse, allowing attendees to get creative in their building.
We had fun building these traps. Attendees got creative in attaching pieces, making them stand, hiding the trapdoors, and finding ways to hide the toy soldiers.
