Book Mill Has Gone Virtual

Book Mill has gone virtual!


Please email Wendy at if you would like to participate and she will send you the Zoom Links to join the online conversations. Below are the upcoming books and dates; we will begin our book discussion at 7:00 pm via Zoom.

You can join the meeting early at 6:50 pm to practice and test your connection before we start. If this is your first time with Zoom, see the end of this email for some resources to get you started. Feel free to share the Zoom link for this meeting with anyone who would like to join. It is open to all.


Below are the final dates for our upcoming meetings through June. A PDF of a bookmark for you to print is attached. All the books are available through the Maynard Public Library.

  • May (5/25/2021)  - Out of Darkness, Shining Light: A Novel by Petina Gappah

  • June (6/29/2021)  - A Long Petal of the Sea by Isabel Allende

If you are familiar with the online book reservation system, you may go online here and request a copy. You may also call the library, say you are a Book Mill reader, and see if any of the requested copies are available. Then set up a time for book pick-up at the library.

Virtual Cookbook Club

Cookbook Club has gone virtual. Join us for a discussion of recipes and dishes.

Monday, May 17, at 12 noon

Recipes using sweet onions (like Vidalias) and/or galette recipes (either sweet or savory)

Choose to prepare any recipe that falls into the above categories. We'll share thoughts on our chosen recipes and talk about other foodie topics. All are welcome! Send an email to to receive the meeting link and password.
