Requesting, Picking Up and Returning Items
How to Request Items
At this time, we are able to offer Maynard Public Library materials to borrow. Network delivery will resume slowly on June 29.
You can request them in three ways.
Request them through the library catalog. Choose Maynard for pickup.
Send a message to .
Call the library at 978 897 1010 X 103 and leave a message.
If you do send us a message or call us please include your library card number and your phone number. We will fill these requests as quickly as possible and be in touch to arrange a pickup.
How to Pick Up Items
Curbside pickup is now available weekdays from 2-5. In order to ensure safe distancing, appointments to pick up items can be made in 20-minute time slots.
There are three ways to make an appointment (in order of preference):
Click this link https://signup.com/go/ciBANNa and choose your preferred time. You will need to provide an email address for confirmation.
Send email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your preferred time (or several). We'll honor that as best we can.
Call Circulation at 978-897-1010 and suggest a time. We'll honor that as best we can. Please note that you may have to leave a message. If you leave your phone number, we’ll call back as soon as possible to confirm.
Please let us know if you are picking up items for a family member (on a different library card) with your own items so that we can bundle them all together. There is a Comment field in the online scheduling form for this purpose.
If you already have a time slot scheduled when more items arrive, you can pick up everything at once--all your items will be bundled together. There is no need to make a second appointment.
Your item(s) will be checked out, bagged and labeled with your name, and placed on the Holds cart just outside the main door. You can just pick up and go! If another patron is picking up when you arrive, please wait at a distance until they are finished.
How to Return Items
All network items may be returned to the book drop each weekday from 9 AM-5 PM. These will be quarantined for 4 days, so don’t be alarmed if they remain on your card after you’ve returned them. No fines will be charged while the library is closed.
